Lock Your Cars!
The Board continues to receive reports of belongings being stolen out of unlocked cars. Remember, it is YOUR responsibility to protect your personal property. If you park your car in your driveway (and not in your garage), please:
Lock your car.
Keep your gate transmitter inside your home and not your cars. Stolen transmitters provide access to the community.
Keep your garage door opener inside your home and not your cars. With an unlocked vehicle, thieves can easily use your garage door opener to gain entrance to your garage.
Don’t leave anything of value within your car, locked or not.
Those with electronic key fobs for their vehicles should be mindful that a simple amplifier will boost the range of communication between your fob and your car, enabling thieves to unlock or even start your car!. At home, key fobs should be kept shielded in a metal box, or even in tin foil.
