Highway 17 Gate Closure and more...

Over the past couple of months, we’ve heard from many of you regarding the front gate guard coverage. In response to your concerns, for a test period, we will have a full-time guard posted during the open gate hours. This will occur for two weeks in October (exact dates will be posted ASAP). This test period should provide us enough information to determine whether this should be a full-time position at our front gate. The guard will stop any vehicle without proper identification. Proper identification is either a Pasatiempo Homeowners Resident sticker or a Pasatiempo Inc Shareholder sticker displayed on the front left corner of the windshield.

Residents can enter through the Resident Only Gate by using the large grey button on their transmitter. A barrier arm will be installed permitting the gate to cycle through the open/close in 10 seconds. Residents are encouraged to utilize the Sims and Westwood gate to avoid possible congestion at the Hwy 17 gate.

Camera Upgrades

New cameras are being installed at the gate entrances which will record all vehicles entering and exiting any gate. This video footage is available for any resident to review, however the system will only retain the footage for 14 days.

Bluetooth Entry System Proposal

This system would run in conjunction with the current transmitter system (which will be phased out). Entry through any gate would be controlled by your Smart Phone and you would be able to open the gates from anywhere. The system Trustees are reviewing now would include taking the photo of a non-resident requesting entry at the time they call you. Could this be an alternative to having a guard at the Hwy 17 gate?

A presentation on this system will be made at the Trustees October 16th meeting. All are welcome to attend!
